5 Tips For Photographing High School Senior Boys

Photographing high school senior boys requires a different approach than photographing high school senior girls. Many photographers focus their marketing efforts on the young women because their general interest in photography is usually higher.

newport news catalog

Nevertheless there is a strong market for male portraits which is often undeserved, providing a less competitive opportunity for a savvy photographer. The following article offers tips for serving this market.

NEWPORT

1. In a pre-session consultation, discuss with the young man what types of props he would like to bring. Ask him about his interests and activities. Creating an image that will match his style is key to a successful photo shoot.

2. During the shoot, photograph at less of an angle than you would for a young woman. For example, get a few shots of him standing feet apart with his shoulders square to the camera. This will make him look wider and position him in a masculine pose. In addition, turn his head so you can see more of his jawbone. The more you are able to see, the larger it looks.

3. When marketing to the young man, offer a scaled down version of your regular senior portrait packages. The time commitment (i.e. half hour sessions) and the price should be low. Remember, young men are much less likely to spend resources on photography. Your scaled back offer may be music to his ears. Don't worry too much about not gaining much of an order. High School Senior boys usually bring their mothers to the shoot. Don't space these shoots back to back. Let the client know his session can be expanded for an additional fee. While the half-hour session gets the young man in the door, his mom will often seek for additional time.

4. Before presenting your images to the senior, narrow them down to the very best shots. Too many images will overwhelm your client. This is true of all clients, not just senior boys.

5. Exchange a free digital image with your contact information on it for becoming a friend on his Facebook page. This is a win-win concept. He will get a free digital image to share with his friends. You will get exposure to all of his Facebook friends.

Following these simple steps will make a photographer more successful in marketing and photographing high school senior boys.

Bathtub Faucet mend Tips and Techniques

Did you know that you can fix a leaking shower faucet and save hundreds of gallons of water a year? Most habitancy just think of a dripping faucet as an annoyance and don't comprehend how much high-priced water is being wasted one drop at a time. The good news is that approximately whatever with a few basic hand tools can learn how to fix most dripping faucets.

Let's start with the basics. Faucets have one primary purpose, to allow the water in your pipes to be used in a controlled manner. This means that they have to open to allow water out of the pipes and close to keep water in the pipes. Not rocket science, right? The conclusion part is what we want to join on here.

LOWES NEWS VA

There Are Two Basic Faucet Designs

Faucets drip when they fail to completely trap the water in the pipes. Most faucets use one of two basic methods to stop the water flow. Some, primarily older designs, use rubber or neoprene washers which tighten against a "seat" and block the flow of water. Drips from these faucets are addressed by replacing the washers and/or seats. We'll talk about how to do that in a minute. Most other faucet designs involve some sort of cartridge. Some habitancy call these "washerless" faucets. Repairing newer style water faucets like these regularly involves replacing the cartridge(s).

Washers And Seats

Older faucet designs often use washers to block the water and keep it in the pipes. Tightening the handle compresses the washer against a "seat" and seals the opening, thus stopping the water flow. If you need to do a bathtub faucet mend on a three handle wall faucet you probably have this type. You will also run into this style if you need to fix a leaking shower faucet hat has two handles. Many sink and lavatory faucets also use washers. One way to tell whether or not your faucets use washers is to see if the handle gets harder to turn as you turn it off. If turning it well tight stops the drip, this probably, but not always, means that you have washers. If you do have a dripping faucet that has washers, the basic mend process is very similar whether you need to know how to mend a shower faucet, repair a leaking tub faucet or fix a dripping sink faucet. There is, however, one leading difference.

Bathtub Faucet Repair

The one essential thing to remember when fixing a leaky bathtub faucet is that you will have to turn the water off to the entire house before removing any parts other than the outer trim pieces. If you're not sure which pieces are trim, just turn the water off first just in case. Once you have turned off the main water to the house you can begin taking things apart. There are lots of distinct brands and designs of faucets out there and they all come apart a exiguous differently, so you will have to sort of feel your way through.

Removing The Trim

The first step is to remove the handles. This is regularly done by removing a cap to expose the handle screw and then removing the screw. Next, remove the handle. This may need a exiguous finesse, as the handles sometimes get stuck in place. One trick is to place the handles of a pair of channel lock pliers behind the valve handle, one on each side, and tap evenly on the handle to nudge it loose. If this doesn't work you can buy a extra tool to remove handles but these tools are sometimes hard to find and regularly a exiguous patience is all you need to do the trick.

After he handles are off, there is regularly some sort of sleeve over the stem itself. This typically has to come off too. Once again, there are many distinct configurations. One favorite establish uses threaded plastic tubes to connect the trim sleeve with the valve. Other types have the sleeve threaded directly onto the valve. You will have to figure this step out before you can proceed. If you can resolve what brand valve you have there is a good opening of looking instructions on-line.

Now For The Root Of The Problem

Ok, so you have removed both the handles and any remaining trim sleeve from the valve. Now you are ready to get to the root of the problem, your valve stem. The washer is approximately all the time at the other end of the valve stem from the handle. regularly the stem is threaded into the valve body and you will just need to unscrew it to remove it. Here's a tip. Stick the handle back on for a second and open the valve half way. This relieves pressure on the stem and makes it easier to unscrew. Now you just need to make sure you are loosening the exact nut.

Lots of valves have a packing nut nearby the stem. It is regularly a exiguous smaller and just in front of the actual connection with the valve body. The packing nut's purpose is to squeeze some extra packing material nearby the stem to preclude water from leaking nearby the stem when the valve is in use. Loosening the packing nut won't help you, you need to get your wrench on the actual connection to the valve body. By the way, a deep socket is often the only tool that will work to remove the valve stem.

Removing The Valve Stem

The easiest way to make sure you have the exact nut is to see if there is a gap opening up in the middle of the nut and the valve body as you loosen the nut. The valve stem itself will also regularly turn when you have the right one. If you have loosened the packing nut by mistake, don't worry, you will adjust it before you are finished anyway. Go ahead and remove both stems and keep up with which one is which, it matters on many valves.

After you have the stems out you should be able to find the washer on the "inside" end. If it is nicked, torn or fragile it is likely the cause of your drip. Even if it looks brand new, go ahead and replace it. You've already come this far. You can get transfer washers at approximately any hardware store. Sometimes you may want to replace the whole stem, especially if the handle end is stripped out. It's best to just take the stem with you to the store and see if you can match it up. Most Do It Yourself market have transfer stems for many favorite brands. If your valve has a center diverter valve to switch the waterfrom the tub spout to the shower head the same process applies. Many times it is easier to replace the diverter stem than to mend it. This well depends on the establish of the stem.

How Are Your Seats?

One more thing to check is the seats. These are the part of the valve body that the washer tightens up against to stop the water flow. If you can get your finger inside the valve, feel of the seats and see if they feel rough. If so, it would be best to replace them if you can get them out. The inside of the seats, which is where the water flows through when the valve is open, regularly have whether a hex or quadrate recess. extra seat wrenches are used to remove the seats. You can regularly get these wrenches at the same place you get the other parts and they're not expensive. You just stick the wrench through the seat and unscrew it. The transfer seats screw back in the same way, just put a exiguous pipe dope on the threads before you install it.

Put It All Back Together

Once you've figured out what needs to be substituted and have done that, you just need to put all back together. If your valve has packing nuts don't put the trim back on until you have turned the water back on. Once the water is on, go ahead and stick the handle on for a second and open the valve. Make sure no water is leaking nearby the stem. If it is leaking, with the handle opened half way, snug down the packing nut until the leak stops. Easy does it. If you get it too tight the handle will be hard to turn. Now discontinue installing the trim pieces and you are done.

Repairing Newer Style Water Faucets

If you have a newer, "washerless" type valve the mend process is similar, but regularly easier. Many of these type valves use a self contained cartridge. If the valve starts to drip, just replace the cartridge and you're done. You still need to turn the water off and remove the handles and trim. The cartridge is regularly held in place by a retaining nut on the valve body or, in the case of most Moen valves, by a retaining clip. Simply remove the cartridge and put someone else one in it's place. If your hot and cold are backwards when you finish, turn the water back off, pull the cartridge back out, turn it over 180 degrees and re-install it.

Delta Style Valves

One other base establish that is determined "washerless" was made noted by Delta and copied by some other makers. It uses exiguous "cup" seals that fit over springs recessed in the back of the valve body. The springs press these "seals" against the cartridge and regulate the flow through exiguous tapered openings in the cartridge. If you have one of these and it's dripping, changing these springs and seals will regularly exact it. Here's a tip. Once you have the cartridge out of the way, insert a phillips screwdriver into the seal and pop both the seal and spring out. Stick the new ones on the end of the screwdriver to help guide them into place. This is especially helpful if you don't have long slender fingers.

Delta, and a few imitators, also have a faucet establish that uses a ball instead of a cartridge. This is not as base in tub or shower valves but there are plentifulness of them out there. The springs and seals are the same but there are lots more o-rings an parts to deal with. The good news is that these parts are readily available. While it's a exiguous more complicated than learning how to mend a Moen kitchen faucet, which is a piece of cake, it is still easier than working with most washer type faucets.

These Techniques Work In The Kitchen Too

Armed with the knowledge you've gained in this report you now not only know how to mend a shower faucet and to mend a leaking tub faucet, but you can apply these skills to many other faucets as well. After fixing a leaky bathtub faucet, stopping a dripping covering hose faucet will be a breeze. The techniques that you will use to unblemished a "washerless" bathtub faucet mend can be used when repairing newer style water faucets of all kinds. whether you have an old dripping tub faucet or a newer kitchen faucet that just won't quite shut off you can now fix it. So put these new skills to use, roll up your sleeves and stop that drip!

Newport, Rhode Island - Summer Residences of the Rich and Famous

Drove to see the Ghetto community of Newport RI, the home of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and the Americas Cup Yacht Club. The town is one of the oldest, settled in 1639, in Rhode Island. It and Portsmouth, RI have a great US Naval History, being the home of the SeaBees, the origin of the Quanset hut, and the continuing Naval War College.

newport ri

The town has always been very kind to people in need of a home, especially if you had the money to spend. The story is told of a sloop which set sail from Newport for some whaling. The captain asked his men if they wanted some adventure and became a pirate ship. They sailed to Madagascar, were refitted, and then attacked the treasure ship of one of the wealthiest Maharajahs of India. Because of their small size, they were able to play a cat and mouse game with the heavier and slower ship. Each one of the 100 sailors came home with 1,500 pounds British Sterling, valued at over one million dollars. The captain and mates received more than that. Newport welcomed these robbers with open arms.

NEWPORT

A century later they welcomed newer robbers, the robber barons of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as the Vanderbilt's, the Astors, and other notables. Many of their summer cottages are visible from Bellevue Avenue and the Cliff Walk along the ocean. Salve Regina University has been endowed with some of these properties along the cliff walk. Some of the properties are open for the commoner to see the sinful opulence of those who made an indecent amount of money, while paying the laborers slave wages. The prices charged to see their cottages is still robbery.(Enough preaching).

In the center of town are the many homes dating from Colonial times. The Truro Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in the United States. During the early 19th century it fell on hard times, because of the lack of a congregation. When the Ashkenazy Jews from Eastern Europe started to immigrate to the US, their congregation built in size. George Washington paid them a visit in 1790 and assured them that religious freedom was important for this young country, which would not tolerate persecution or any sanctions against any religion. While we were visiting, a docent was answering question from the group. One man commented that the Hewbrew writing on the wall was incorrect. Another gentleman remarked: "That is sooo Semetic. When they weave a rug, they always drop a stitch at the beginning. Then they are perfect. This imperfection shows that only Allah is perfect."

Nearby is a tower of unknown origin. People think that it was erected by the Vikings. From archeological sites in Scandinavia and ones in Ireland, I think that the design is more Celtic in origin. Nonetheless it is a mystery.

Directly across the street is the Channing Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church, one of the first in America. Channing was instrumental in the fostering of this church in America. He was born and grew up in Newport.

Cycling in Virginia, Long-distance Newport News to Washington DC

When starting from Newport News it is about 15 miles to the Yorktown Toll Bridge heading up Highway 17 and 100 miles to Fredericksburg then if you take Highway 1 into Washington it is another 45 miles to the bridge into Washington DC. Another way to go is to take Highway 17 from Yorktown Toll Bridge 80 miles to Highway 301 and cross into Maryland to Highway 5 and from there, well all roads lead to Washington DC as they say?

The roads in Virginia are not so bad and yet Highway One needs some work, watch those bike rims if you are traveling over 20 mph in places, you have to wonder what our tax dollars go for these days? The roads in some parts of Washington DC some would perhaps disagree with you if you called them; Actual Roads. As for traffic, I prefer to do this ride on a weekday if you have the luxury, less traffic. In Washington DC I prefer the weekends although traffic always is a bear.

NEWPORT

The best part about this route is that there are a lot of fellow cyclists at all points and if you have a major problem, catastrophe or second flat tire with no additional tube, getting a ride is fairly easy. Folks in Virginia are pretty nice and if you take the Maryland road as your last leg, most are fairly nice too, although fewer of them are driving pickups. There are many good stops along the way and it is a route you will enjoy and see something new each time. Explore it and consider this in 2006.

Free cell phone offers and lower rate plans are genuinely enticing, but are they genuinely the cheapest cell phone plans? To say they have the cheapest service is also to say they know your calling habits. There is a tiny more to this than cents per minute.

LOWES NEWS VA

Isn't the cheapest cell phone plan the one with the smallest bill at the end of each month? It makes sense to me. So how do you find the best plan with the bottom rates that will leave you with a smaller monthly bill?

Cell phone plans come in two forms. Prepaid, otherwise known as pay as you go, and quarterly monthly, or post paid plans. When choosing which is best for you, think about how much you'll use the cellular service each month.

Prepaid cell phone plans are great if you will not be using the service very often. If you use your cell phone for emergencies only, you'll benefit from pay as you go since it doesn't cost much to add minutes to your prepaid cell phone and you won't need to top up again for awhile.

Monthly plans are best if you are going to use your service fairly often, since many cell phone services offer unlimited nights and weekends, free movable to mobile, and a healthy whole of anytime minutes. You can even get a free cell phone with a service agreement.

The inexpressive method to getting the cheapest cell phone plan is figuring in your usage, plus rates, plus incentives. Incentives being the freebies like free cell phones or free minutes. Find a healthy equilibrium of all three factors, and you'll have your cheapest plan.

But on the morning of December 23, 2006, just two days before Christmas, all things changed.

At 10 weeks pregnant, a tragic car urgency caused Lowers any serious injuries and pushed her in a coma. Over the next five plus months, she was shipped back and fourth from West Virginia to Allegheny normal Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Despite, severe neurological damage, Lowers was able to make some advance and held out until June 7, when despite being in her comatose state, doctors were able to achieve a Caesarian section to deliver her and fiancée Antill's child Jayden Mathew.

Due to her condition, as well as bacterial infections she had acquired, Lowers was not able to palpate any time with her child.

Tuesday, June 19, she died due to complications arising from her vegetative state.

As Lower's father Jim put it, "She wanted to hang on long sufficient to make sure he (Jayden) was Ok."

Jenet Lowers' unwillingness to let her child die with her was a pure and unbelievable act of love, strength and yes, heroism. So the next time you reflect on what makes a hero, you may want to remind yourself of Lower's unbelievable story.

Newport Beach DUIs

Newport Beach is a charming coastal community in Orange County, California. It's also well known as the wealthiest city in the United States (according to the website portfolio.com), and it is the location of the Newport Beach Courthouse -- the Harbor Justice Center branch of the Orange County Superior Court. This single courthouse handles more DUI cases in Orange County than all other courts in Orange County Superior Court, combined. (The next busiest would be the West Justice Center in Westminster, which trails the Harbor Justice Center in DUI cases handled by a far margin).

newport news clothing

Part of this has to do with the jurisdiction of the courthouse. Covering the jurisdictions of not only Newport Beach, but also the beach communities of Laguna Beach, Newport Coast, San Clemente, Capistrano Beach, Balboa Island, Corona Del Mar, Dana Point, Lido Isle, and also the inland cities of Irvine, Costa Mesa, Aliso Viejo, Coto de Caza, John Wayne Airport, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana Heights, and Trabuco Canyon, this court covers a lot of cities, especially beach cities with plenty of patrons of bars and restaurants, an ideal setup for DUI checkpoints, and areas which aren't covered by regular public transportation - a "perfect storm" for drunk drivers.

NEWPORT

At the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach, there are also more DUI trials than any other courthouse in Orange County. Although the overall percentage of the prosecution winning misdemeanor trials in Newport Beach specifically was 62% last year, the conviction rate for DUIs is higher, perhaps because of the more conservative jury pool in Newport Beach. Last year prosecutors in Newport Beach won over 80% of DUI trials. Because of the unique aspects of this courthouse, prosecutors in the Newport Beach Courthouse have special policies of having "zero tolerance" and of going after defendants accused of DUI with harsh punishment, including jail time, without alternative or exceptions.

You can avoid being a statistic by knowing your options and how DUIs are handled in the Harbor Justice Center by Newport Beach DUI lawyers that practice in that courthouse daily.

Newport Beach DUI Checkpoints

DUI Checkpoints in Newport Beach are commonly held near the bars and restaurants of Fashion Island, the shopping center, and Pacific Coast Highway. Current information about Orange County DUI Checkpoint locations for Newport Beach, and other cities, are announced on the Newport Beach Police Website, and also on the Orange County DUI Checkpoints Blog. DUI checkpoints are not statistically a truly effective ways of catching drunk drivers, but they do provide money to the city of Newport Beach, especially through impounded motor vehicles. An individual will still have to pay to have his or her vehicle returned, even if he has been found innocent of DUI in a court of law.

Driver's License Issues

Driver's license issues from a DUI are handled by the DMV, and are not handled or dealt with in the Harbor Justice Center. However, it is worth mentioning that for all jurisdictions covered by this courthouse, driver's license hearings are heard at the DMV Office of Driver Safety, located at Von Karman Avenue, Irvine, CA 92606. From the date of arrest, a driver has only 10 days to request a hearing with the Office of Driver Safety to avoid a suspension. If a person arrested for DUI doesn't do this, it means an automatic suspension of driving privileges for four months or more, with very few exceptions.

Defending a Newport Beach DUI Charge

There are many different factors that contribute to the defense of a DUI charge. Newport Beach DUI Lawyers that know the system and procedures at the Harbor Justice Center will go over the details of the arrest with a fine-tooth comb, and he or she will review the case to see if all proper procedures were followed during the investigation and testing. For instance, if the police did not have a valid legal reason (probable cause) to stop you and investigate further,, there's a chance that all charges could be dropped. If the breathalyzer machine was not maintained and calibrated correctly, a good attorney will work to have the charges dismissed based on a defective test. Your blood alcohol level and toxicology reports will be reviewed and re-tested for proper certification, levels of bacteria, anti-coagulants, and preservatives, will also be looked at closely by the defense.

By quickly contacting a DUI lawyer as soon as you've been arrested and charged, you increase your chances of having competent representation and ensuring that your rights are protected, even in a tough courthouse like the Harbor Justice Center of Orange County Superior Court.

selecting a Shop Vac for Your Small company

Shop Vacuum Testing is time spellbinding for the small enterprise person and even more problematic is there are so many to select from. Most retailers will not allow you to test them in the store before purchasing, but if you pick the wrong one you will be sorry.

After testing the off the shelf shop vacuums ready to the public, we have some recommendations. If you are to buy a shop vac off the shelf from a major retailer rather buying an industrial shop vac such as a quiet and noteworthy Karcher or Wap, then these are the results you need to know. First we tested many things. Suction of sawdust from a five-gallon bucket. Sucking up steel washers of dissimilar sizes, Sucking up water from a five gallon bucket and then we measured the decibels while doing so. We tested the Craftsman 5.5 Hp-16 gallon vacuum. The Genie 6.0 hp vacuum with 16 gallons. The Ridgid vacuum 6.0 hp and the Shop-Vac six hp 16-gallon shop vacuum.

LOWES NEWS VA

Here are the results. The vacuuming of wood chips was won by the Shop-Vac Vacuum, which took only 11.4 seconds. Second was the Ridgid at 12.4 seconds. Last the Craftsman at 14.1 seconds. For the water test the winner was the Genie with the five gallon bucket of water gone in 7.3 seconds, Craftsman second at 9.4 and the Ridgid and Shop-Vac tied for last at 9.6 seconds to empty the five gallon bucket of water. The noise factor is of significance too. The decibel rating for Shop Vac was lowest at 81 dB at a five-foot distance. The Craftsman was at 86 dB and the Ridgid was 88 dB. Last and noisiest was the Genie with 90 dB. We think the Genie was worst due to the high pitch of the motor while under higher demands for suction. But it did suck the water fastest while development this noise. It won the water-sucking test.

We might also recommend the Muffler, which is ready through Craftsman or Ridgid as an accessory. With a limited Teflon tape it can be made to fit both the Genie and the Shop Vac without any loss of suction. It is a simple baffle system, which breaks up the airflow and quiets the noise and high-pitched shrill sounds. It will lower the vacuums by 5-7 decibels. If you stick it into the exhaust port of your vacuum for a blower, it will work and costs .00.

You can order it from the Kmart-Sears Catalog or buy the ridgid model off the shelf at a Home Depot. someone else great attachment to be added to your arsenal is the rain gutter attachment for about .00, which is also made ready through Craftsman or Ridgid. It is a molded piece of bended plastic able to help you clean rain gutters. Here are the web sites we found to help you learn more about Shop Vacs;

Shop-Vac Qsp Pro, http://www.shop-vac.com

It requires almost 6 amps of you 36 amp generator while run time and spike is 12 amps and a full power. Phone amount is 1-570-326-3557, average sell costs are between .00-99.00, ready in yellow with black top.

Ridgid Wd-1660 with blower, [http://www.ridgidwoodworking.com]

It needs 6.25 amps to run and spike peak is 12 amps. The price is about 9.00 but we have seen them on sale occasionally for .00 at Home Depot a combine of times per year. The color is gray and red top, does not come in yellow. 1-800-474-3443. It has a twenty-foot cord which is good.

Craftsman 113.177370 usually sells for .00 sometimes higher but seems to be perpetually on sale. Demands 5.5 amps to run and spikes at 11.4 as per the manual, but we got it to 13.8 amps sucking water. Also comprehend that Craftsman filed bankruptcy, but the good news is that they are still operating and Craftsman has a 1 year warranty and if bought on the Sears card you can get a 3 year add on warranty for .00, we recommend this. 1-800-377-7414. ready in Red and black top only. Most popular and longest made brand of shop vacuums.

Genie Pro 600Q. 6 amps running, 12 at peak.

http://www.geniecompany.com 1-800-354-3643.

Comes in yellow with black top. usually prices under 0.00, usually on sale at .00 and off sale is about .00 at Home depot, Target, Loews, Home depot and Wal*Mart.

After all these tests our investigate has done that due to color of unit, noise, and carrying out of all four of these top selling shop vacuums, we like the Shop-Vac Model, with the attachments for the muffler at Home Depot from Ridgid wrapped with three layers of one inch wide Teflon tape and stuck into the exhaust of the vacuum to quiet it a little.

Here are some other reasons for picking this unit over the others; Genie was too loud for use at office parks near customers, but we liked the color. Craftsman was good but we felt that the color red and the noise were an issue and also the lid falls off too easy when trying to move it around, we did not like the latches or the cradle used to maneuver it, it took up too much space in the shop. Ridgid has a yucky color and the same large cradle as the Craftsman. We liked the blower idea, but not noteworthy sufficient for blowing water off cars and no real attachment ready for blowing out door jams. So that feature is not needed and probably the hypothesize for the higher price.

Shop-Vac has a ridge on the inside of the bucket so to empty you have to thoroughly turn the vac upside down, which was a pain. But in the end the quietness and fit capability of the Ridgid attachment to make it even quieter put us down to 75 Decibels, which is more than standard in office parks. sufficient to let habitancy know you are there, but not sufficient to be bothersome or interfere with their phone calls, conferences, meetings or conversations.

Also you can recapitulate with your employees while working as long as you are up to 10 feet from it. Also nice is when we stuck a 30 foot pool hose up to it, the Shop-Vac was still able to get sufficient suction to pick up the water from a floor mat which was pressure washed to remove stains to make it dry. Other good things which we feel would increase longevity to these units was the fact that Shop-Vac had an selection of filter Bags, and Dry Pick-up Cartridges whether one or two stage pleated and a foam filter for picking up water or a filter cover over option. Like wise most of these had Drum Liners

Consumer reports had an description in their magazine, which rated the unit high but gave the winning seal of approval to Craftsman. Other reports have been divided. Now comprehend that we do prefer the Wap, Blue bucket, black top unit to these off the shelf units and they are much quieter by 25 decibels or more. The Wap with a thirty-foot vacuum hose draws much better air flow than any of these and is about 20% more powerful. It uses the same amps more or less. If you need one of these Waps Call 1-480-517-1925 ask for Jason and ask for your Ezine discount and they will ship one out to you.

The Incompetent Doctor, And How to protect Yourself

Two nurses who lost their hospital jobs and endured criminal prosecution after reporting a physician to the Texas healing Board over outpatient protection concerns will receive 5,000 each in a settlement of a federal lawsuit they had filed against their former employer, the physician, and other parties [Lowes, 2010].

Every physician in California has a recurring bad dream of seeing their name on the monthly "discipline" list of the California healing board, the regulator of doctors in the state. The record includes a brief record of the offense, and the punishment. Of the 30 or so actions reported, about 90% are related to alcohol or drugs, commonly resulting in probation and rehabilitation. A few offenses are related to fraud, with the remaining punishments due to incompetence, commonly so egregious as to be frightening.

LOWES NEWS VA

In reality, these problems are the tip of an iceberg. For every action taken, who knows how many are not reported, or don't rise to the level of discipline? Some consequent in malpractice suits, but these rarely consequent in physician suspension or retraining.

The record quoted above illustrates how difficult it can be to record and discipline even one bad physician. Two nurses risked their careers by complaining about what appears to be clear incompetence. That physician used his friendship and influence with the hospital administrator and local officials to both avoid the charges and to get the nurses fired from their jobs.

Although the nurses at last prevailed in court, the physician has remained in practice, although he under investigation.

How can society in general, and your house in particular, make sure your physician is doing a good job?

Physician groups and hospital staffs do a much great job policing themselves than state healing boards. In large groups, physicians have broad ethical, financial, and legal incentives to monitor, value and improve the care they are giving. Excluding the impaired or incompetent physician makes very good sense.

One of the few beneficial aspects of Obamacare is that it contains financial incentives to force physicians to form groups, which will be far more sufficient than bureaucracies and communicate boards in enhancing quality.

In the meantime, you can probably safe yourself and your house by using doctors who are affiliated with larger groups and larger hospitals. Although there are exceptions, it is far less likely an impaired or incompetent physician will be practicing with others. Counter-intuitive as it might seem, avoiding the local "Marcus Welby" practitioner may be the key to insuring good care. Nurses in Texas Whistleblower Case determine for 0,000.
